Connecting SONY Camcorder to the EasyCAP

I recently recieved a question regarding capturing videos from a camcorder. I have a SONY DCR-PC5E quite old now but i still have tapes with stuff i want to transfer to DVD, i still have the cable which came with the camcorder which i usually use to connect to the TV, this works with the easycap.

On your camcorder you should see similar to the picture below Audio/Video Out connect your cables to this port and the composite video cables to the Easycap. My handycam is PAL 50hz as standard so i got a picture immediately.

Okay, I’ve got a major problem:
I lost my DVD with the support files, and switched to a new PC. What’s also disturbing, is that the day after I moved all my files from my old to my new one, except the plugins, and my old pc crashed. does anybody has a link where I can get an .iso, or just the support files? Thanks very much.

Is my EasyCap Model # DC60 able to copy from VCR to DVD, in addition to copying from video cameras? I’ve tried doing so with RCA connectors as well as with SVideo cable & RCAs for audio, but so far have only been able to capture audio. Is it possible some settings I have or made are not correct?
    I have Version 2.1C Model DC60 w/USB 2.0 Video Adapter w/Audio.
What settings should I be using that I may not be using?

Does any one live in South Yorkshire or North Lincolnshire who I may visit to show me how to use the easycap successfully, will pay £20.00 for your time. I have a Jvc camcorder and a vhs hq video recorder from tesco. I’m 50 years old and the techno written lingo has me puzzled. I live near Epworth, near doncaster sheffield airport. Thankyou. Angy

I have a Panasonic miniDV. The only socket that will connect to EasyCap is revealed only by removing the battery. There is then no power to operate the cam. What am I doing wrong?
Being able to attach pictures would improve this site.

    Hi I have two questions

1, I did not receive a Serial Number with the EasyCap. It was not on the CD Sleeve.
2, The drivers installed fine and my software picked up my Sony 8mm cam nicely, the quality in very good. But when recording with the cam, it records in color. When I use the two capture programs I have. When viewing the live video in the program it is B&W. And when transferring the color video from the camcorder to the program its in B&W as well.

    Thanks ljl

Bought Easycap 8 months ago – no good (suspect a total waste of money): can’t transfer Hi8 to hard drive from Sony Camcorder: just can’t get audio! Maybe I can lipread the video and then use sub-titles?!

Why doesn’t anyone answer the questions in this “forum”???
